Workers work the Green

Glamourous it ain't shoveling a new batch of dirt, wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow. But D9/10 have made two bail garden beds on the green in the last two weeks and filled them with soil.

Our students are the true quiet achievers of the green and they work hard to make a home for new plants that they tend, then pluck and cook up in the kitchen. Phillip got stuck in and shoveled load after load. Hayden wheeled loads into the new beds. Michael and Dylan shared a spade and dug in ! Sam kept up the dirt load for load with the boys. Joel topped up the barrel tanks by hose. Joshua watered in the newly planted seedlings, bed by bed. An hour and half later on some of the steamiest days in November so far the beds are ready to produce !

They were thirsty, they were hungry, but they got the job done.
